1. 2.

Rain
Not only does the water cause my garden to grow better
As well as filling my rain barrels
I am able to find leaves covered in droplets which are beautiful and delicate.

I was headed out to the car and paused, noticing the leaves all over the ground that were covered in dew like droplets.
The thought ran through my head, "Hey, I should get my macro lens and find that photo..." but I got in my car and continued my errand running. When I returned my room mate noted, "Did you see those leaves out there with the water? They're awesome!" So I was moved, to go and do the work involved to find the photos these leaves had to offer. Here are the "keepers" I have.
Finding an image in the world has been a continual wrestling act for me; Not a fruitless act either. (Physically I know I'd loose any wrestling act..ha) I'm continually pushed forward to wrestle by anything from friends to nature, to people I work with and for. I enjoy this struggle, hope you do to...

Babies and trampolines...

So this story begins about 6 months ago, yes, six of them back.
So Amanda has this, trampoline, she loves to bounce, you might say she is professional...
on our last trek to Iowa, we recovered her trampoline from the old chicken coop where it was sadly retired. We made this rescue and now this mass of aluminum, springs and nylon are setting in my back yard. We jump, we laugh, we lay, we jump, we laugh, we lay, she jumps, I lay....
Amanda came by on her lunch break the other day, to jump (yes she loves to jump) and I got out my camera.( yes I love to photograph) She jumped and I photographed. We both did what we love and here is what happened! Enjoy this small view into our eyes.
Also here is a preview of Amy & Dave's baby! (my sis and bro in law) Rannen Ezra Fix!
Keep a close eye out, you will see more of Rannen soon.

Pictures of my picture taker

So yesterday I picked up this old Kodak 4x5 with the hopes of learning some new techniques and to just see if I can. To me, the idea of doing some portrait or landscape work with this is an exciting prospect! So I will keep you updated and post when I get some photos developed.

The rest...

Ok, So here is the scoop on these crazy storms! Amanda went to Iowa last week for her book conference and stayed with her family. I fixed tractors, helped here dad with his dragster and ate pizza from Casey's. (Yes the gas station place) I original set out with the idea of getting some star track shots, since Amanda's family lives on a farm I wouldn't have to compete with town lights. My plans were quickly changed with the weather turned grey.(which is ok really) We had storms EVERY day we were there; One day we actually had 3 blow through. The first one started early, 6 am, then clear skies, the next around 4, then clear skies and finally around 9:30. They were not small either, I was able to experience thunder heads and 50 mph wind appear from no place! They jumped up like a storm will on a beautiful day in the middle of a hike in colorado, only, no trees or caves to hide in. Just the nearest farm house, barn or cow.
I really enjoy the beautiful land Amanda's family lives on, the place is absolutely beautiful; Rolling hills covered in corn or soy beans, red bars and cows grazing. Standing there smelling the air and feeling the breeze can cary you away to a peaceful land indeed.
WE had a fantastic trip!
Then I broke my room mirror. I mean, the mirror wasn't mounted so really, I was asking for destruction. I bumped the glass with my elbow and spun around quickly to try and arrest the fall but I actually ended up hitting the mirror from the back and helped its trip to my floor. Boom! Then creative opportunity....

A sneak peek...

Here is a photo from a wild and crazy storm that blew through when Amanda and I were in Iowa this past week.
I'm in the process of changing Internet providers so this is just a quick update via phone. By Wednesday we should be up and running again! Then you can get the whole story....
